That was an interesting article and I didn't realize that the semi-automatic was nearing 100 years old. I'll forward this site to my friends who I know will love this site as they have large collections. My only pistol is a .38, but my wife and I are suppose to go to a class next month with a police firearms trainer where we can try several guns. I'm going to ask him if he has a 1911. Something tells me he probably does.

Great piece. I hadn't realized that the 1911 had been built in response to action in the Philippines, not WW1.
